Gosh it's been a while, eh? Things have been a bit hectic around here. I was totally sick all last week. I had a horrible cough, runny nose then stuffy nose then runny nose again. It was awful. I don't usually get sick but there have been some stressors in my life lately and I think I was just worn down.
The kids are doing well. I had fun at the zoo with Jona and his class. I did lose Jona though. Yep. I lost my own kid on the field trip. Mind you it was only for a couple of minutes but only I could do that! We were at part of the zoo that is made to look like a red rock canyon and me and the three other kids in the group went on...I was thinking that Jona was right behind me but he wasn't. As soon as I noticed he was gone I rushed back and found him in the capable hands of a mother who had just pulled out her cell phone to call the number of the school which was on the tag he was wearing. I should have written my cell number on there along with "If I'm lost please call this number" Jona wasn' t scared which was good. He just said "Mom we got separated." Then a this week I get a call and the conversation goes something like this.... "Is this Mrs. Ormond?" "Yes" "Do you have a son named George?" "Yes" "Well he is down here at the school" "He is???????????????" "Yes he was out playing on the monkey bars" "Okay I will be right down to get him" George had been playing at the neighbor girls house and I was just getting ready to call and have him come home. Well he had told the mom that he was coming home. I guess he saw the kids playing at recess and decided to join them. The only way they figured out who he belonged to was he told them that he had a brother named Jona. (Unfortunately we haven't taught him our real names....we were just Momma and Papa) Luckily they figured it out or they probably would have had to call the police. So I went to pick him up and he was sitting quietly in the principle's office (which I am afraid he will see more of when he starts school) eating some candy. She said he was a very polite little boy. I just can't believe that he did that. He is going to give me the most grey hairs of all the kids I do believe.
My grandmothers all seem to be facing struggles right now. It looks as if my paternal grandmother only has a month or two left to live. It makes me sad but in a way I know it will be a relief for her. She is mostly blind, has lost much of her hearing and her heart is slowly failing. My maternal grandmother went to have a stint put in her heart and they told her that the artery was completely blocked but that there were shoots growing off of it and when they finished growing the blood would have a place to go. She is doing okay. Ty's paternal grandmother has been having some serious health problems as well. She was in the hospital for a week. She is home now and doing better. My dad went in for surgery today to see if they can alleviate some of the pain that he has been having. Hopefully this will work. My mom was really worried because he had to go off of his blood thinners and he has a heart valve that he has to have the thinner blood or he could "throw a clot" and stroke out or die. The doctor said that the surgery went well but he isn't sure if this is the solution or not. My oldest sister is having some serious health issues as well. Like I said there have been some stressors in my life lately. So that is why I'm not around all that much. Hopefully I will find the time to get on a bit more...At least once or twice a week.
Oh yeah we went to see "Attack of the Clones" tonight. Didn't even have to wait in a line for tickets or to get in and get a seat. It was really amazing. Jona LOVED it. And can I just say....Yoda kicks arse!
