I had one terrific weekend. My favorite roommate from college had invited me to be there when she was sealed to her husband and kids in the St. George temple. She and her family live in Beaver so we drove down there and spent the night with them Friday. We got there around 9:00 p.m. and then they took us out for dinner. It was so great to see her again. I think the last time we saw each other was about two years ago. She and I are quite a bit alike and she has a 5 year old daughter that SO reminds me of McKenna. We really need to keep in touch better. Ty's mom stayed here with the kids Friday night and then my sil took them Saturday afternoon. It was very relaxing to go without the kids. We really needed that time. We got home at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday night. I couldn't sleep so at 1 a.m. I got up and watched Shrek. We hadn't seen it in the theater and I really enjoyed it.
Sunday was the baby blessing of a great-niece. My niece moved to Arizona just before the baby was born but she came back here to have the her blessed. They named her Cassie (but said Casey). She is a tiny thing. Ty only stayed at sacrament meeting to participate in the blessing then he and George left to hand out some fliers for a meeting that the young men in our ward were having that night. Well about 5 minutes before the meeting was about to end my cell phone started ringing. I have the ring set to "Ode to Joy" and on loud because I can never hear it ring since it is buried in my purse. I was a bit embarrassed but just grabbed my purse and walked out into the hall. Luckily I was close to a door. It was Ty, he had locked the keys in the car. So my other sister gave me and the kids a ride down to unlock the car. After the blessing we went to my sister's house for lunch. Poor Cassie was tired and hungry and they kept wanting to get pictures of her. I got a chance to hold her for a minute and got her to stop crying when my mom comes up and says that my grandma wants to hold her. So I oblige and hand Cassie over to grandma. Cassie then starts to cry and I tried to give her a bottle and she decided it was okay to suck on it. Well my mom goes to take the picture and she says "Do you want it with the bottle?" I was thinking "There is no way that I am going to take this bottle away from this poor little thing." I told her to just take the picture and then grandma was upset because she said we would be able to see the Cassie's face. I told her that yes she would. Then right after that they took the poor little girl and started taking more pictures...they took the bottle away. I just felt so bad for her. And her mom, my niece, is pretty young and isn't used to standing up for herself let alone someone else. My niece was looking pretty tired herself. We then left and came home. Ty went to his meeting and the kids and I watched Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat and Shrek. I put the kids to bed Ty came home and we watched Shrek together. Then we went to bed. All in all it was pretty darn good weekend. I wish we could have more like them.--------------------What do you know?
