I talked to my neighbor to the East of me this morning and she said that her largest pumpkin had been taken as well. I would be even more ticked off if I were in here shoes because they went to their grandpa's house and picked the pumpkin from there. Sheesh!

People suck!

As we were backing out of our driveway this morning I looked at our porch and noticed that something was missing. It was the huge pumpkin that we had bought about a week ago. I couldn't believe it! We had our porch light on all night and they still had the cahoona's to come right up on our porch and take it. It wasn't smashed in the road so I think it was just someone who was too lazy and cheap to go out and look for one of their own. There were other pumpkins that they left behind but this was the big one it cost us $9 at Pumpkin Land. I am so bummed and pissed off. So I wrote a letter and sent it off to the local papers. I don't know if that will do any good though because someone who is stupid enough to steal a pumpkin is probably not one who will be reading the editorial section of the newspaper but at least it let's me vent to a large, local audience. And who knows the letter may not even be published. So I will post my letter here as well (with a few additions that I left out of the letter to the newspaper because I wanted it to make it to print *g*)

An open letter to all Pumpkin Stealers...especially the ones who stole the large pumpkin off our front porch Saturday night the 13th of Oct. YOU SUCK!!!!! If you took it to smash it or because stealing gives you a thrill, I hope it was worth it. If you took it because you were just too lazy or too cheap to go to the MANY places around here that sell pumpkins of ever shape and size I say, get off your butt and get a job. But most of all I want to say thank you. Thank you for giving me something else to explain to my children. Not only do I have to explain to my children that there are bad people who fly planes into buildings far away but now I get to explain to them that there are bad people right here in our town who would take a pumpkin from off of a lit porch in the middle of the night. I know that there really is no comparison in between the two but I still have to explain them both to my young children. Yes we still have other pumpkins that you did not steal (which, incidentally, we will be keeping in the house from now until Halloween) but you took the biggest one. The one that the kids were most looking forward to carving. So, thanks again for everything you have done and I hope you have a Happy Halloween....DORKS! *YOU SUCK and DORKS were added to this version if you couldn't guess...LOL!
