Well a feel like a dork. It seems that in trying to grow grass on the West side of the house I left the water running for too long (read over 2 hours) and it came into our basment, into Ty's office and our bedroom closet.. Luckily Ty caught it before it got REALLY bad. It was bad enough that it filled the water basin of our Rainbow vaccuum and was still fairly wet. We had to pull Ty's desk away from the wall and it, unfortunately already had a little bit of water damage. I pulled up the carpet and we ran fans in there all night to dry the pad. It was still wet this morning but it looks like it's drying. The closet wasn't as bad as Ty's office. We had a box of old magazines that soaked up much of the water that came in and there was some water damage to our dresser but not really bad. I just feel so stupid for not realizing that I had let the water run for that amount of time. Ty was surprisingly calm about the whole situation. He handled it really well. Which is good because I would have broken down if he hadn't. It seems that even when I try to do something good that it some how gets messed up. Now Ty has plans to build an arbor and grow vines on it to give that side of the house some shade so we don't have to worry about growing the grass.
Ooooo Lala! Another redisign. I like.
Okay I feel a bit vindicated. I was really upset by a commercial that JcPenney was running were it shows the mom pulling her teen daughters "hipster" pants down lower on her hips because kids "still need parental guidance". Whatever! What parent is going to do that? I was disgusted. This morning on the news they said that JcPenney had recieved so many complaints about this commercial that they pulled it. YES! I wish I had been one who had complained but I didn't take the time. I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one out there who was shocked and offended by this commercial.
I wish that I had taken a before picture of the yard. Ever since the shot I have been hard at work. I weeded the front flower beds, cut back and uprooted (well dad did that with the Kubota) the wild rose in the front that has always looked blah unless it's in bloom, tried to shape one of the little trees into a spiral, cut down two trees (again dad with the chain saw) that were not even noticable behind the umbrella trees, trimmed those umbrella trees so that you can mow under them without being attacked, deadheaded the red hot pokers, Ty cut down the dead aspen by the front door, weeded the one of the back flower beds, tilled (dad with the Kubota) and seeded the west side yard and filled in the holes by the Aspen in the back by the patio. The house looks 100X better and it even looks bigger. IMO. Tomorrow I am hoping to paint the front under the Eaves and get things ready so that Ty can put a new porch light fixture on that we have had for around three months now. I hated the fact that I our house looked like it was abandoned. Now it looks like someone actually lives here. The front flower bed was totally overtaken by morning glory so I just cut everything back now it's mostly just dirt but it's raked dirt and that dead tree is outta there. We left the trunk so that we could put a bird house on it. I hope that the grass seed that I put on the side yard will grow. I will take some pictures tomorrow after I finish painting. Like I said I wish that I had taken some before pictures.
I see that we have a new bloggeron the block. I like it. Now I just need to put it into my links. Amy (BTW Happy Birthday to Amy's boy Connor!) and DonnaLeigh have new designs and they look fantastic!
Been looking on ebay for some used Buzz Lightyear dolls for the boys for Christmas. This is a dangerous place *G*. I found a few auctions that look promising. Wish me luck.
