Welcome to Westaven!

What is Westaven?

Westaven is a fantasy campaign played using the role playing game GURPS, by Steve Jackson Games. We specialize in "low" fantasy--meaning less magic and more "realism." (See the description of "Moderate Realism" in GURPS Martial Arts, pg. 237)

Who are you guys?

Our players are adults (mostly in our thirties) living across the country, from Florida to Michigan to Washington. Our careers span teaching, computers, freelance writing, and the government. Most of us began playing role playing games in our youths, and now we relive the fun and excitement once a week. Our game master ("GM")--and creator of Westaven--is the much-maligned-by-his-players Pyrandon.

How & when do you play?

We play every Thursday night starting at 20:30 GMT-4 (that's 8:30 pm Eastern time) on OpenRPG, a free program offering a "virtual tabletop" so players anywhere in the world can get together and play! Feel free to dowload the program and drop by to watch us "live"--or, you can always read our past games' transcripts, listed as links on our Calendar pages.
